Moakley Park welcomes local clubs, teams, and fitness groups to take advantage of a wide variety of recreational facilities in the park. Over two dozen reservable fields and courts are available to groups to play basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, and more. Other facilities including playgrounds and splash pads are available for anyone to drop in and play during regular park operating hours.
Moakley park features two playgrounds: the Dorothy Curran Children’s Park (located on the South side of the park near Saunders Stadium) and Preble Playground (located on the North side of the park near the Ollie). A seasonal splash pad offers a fun way to stay cool in the summer months. Playgrounds are open every day from dawn until dusk.
Groups may reserve over 25 different locations in the park by applying for a permit with the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. Types of facilities available include:
