There’s something for everyone.

Make it yours.

Welcome to Moakley Park: An expansive urban green space located on the South Boston waterfront. Owned and managed by the City of Boston’s Parks and Recreation Department, Moakley Park is one of Boston’s largest park areas, featuring 60 acres of walking paths, playgrounds, athletic fields, and open recreational space that serve as an important resource to the surrounding community.

Over a century after it was established, Moakley Park is in the midst of a new design process that seeks to re-imagine the park in a way that better serves contemporary needs of the community while leveraging the landscape to protect surrounding neighborhoods from the anticipated impacts of climate change. The redeveloped park will incorporate community input to serve a variety of recreational needs and will welcome and encourage people of all ages to learn, grow, and play.
