Bioblitz with Save the Harbor

Join Harley Monteiro, Boston Harbor Now, and Save the Harbor/Save the Bay for a bioblitz across the park and beach. During this event, participants will document plants, birds, and insects by uploading photographs to the iNaturalist phone application. Meet at the Carson Beach Bathhouse, and we’ll go from there.

What is a Bioblitz?

A bioblitz is a collective effort to record as many species as possible at a specific place and time. Bioblitzes are a great way for citizen scientists to connect with the environment while creating useful data for science and conservation.

Why Moakey? Why Now?

The proposed renovations to Moakley Park will add plant and habitat diversity. The project team is interested in documenting the existing plants, birds, and insects to understand how the park landscape changes with the improvements.
