DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, April 25th for a bioblitz across the park and beach\, being held as part of the worldwide 2026 City Nature Challenge. During this event\, participants will document plants\, birds\, and insects by uploading photographs to the iNaturalist phone application. Learn more about the Boston area events here. \nWhat is a Bioblitz?\nA bioblitz is a collective effort to record as many species as possible at a specific place and time. Bioblitzes are a great way for citizen scientists to connect with the environment while creating useful data for science and conservation. \nWhy Moakey? Why Now?\nThe proposed renovations to Moakley Park will add plant and habitat diversity. The project team is interested in documenting the existing plants\, birds\, and insects to understand how the park landscape changes with the improvements. We are planning to host a series of these events throughout the summer. \nThis event is being held in collaboration with the Moakley Park Clean Up \nIf you are interested in being involved\, reach out to  moakleypark@bostonharbornow.org

We’ll give you everything you need to keep you safe. Just bring a positive attitude as you help make a difference. \nWhat to bring: Make sure you wear work clothes and close-toed shoes (that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty). If you have gardening or work gloves\, feel free to bring them. Depending on the weather\, you may want to bring a hat\, sunscreen\, raincoat\, or jacket.
